It's a BOY! of course!

Kayla and I went to the doctor last Wednesday to find out the gender of our tiny little baby. It has been confirmed that there are a certain twig and some giggle berries in the equation. If you still haven't got it from the title of this post and from the heretofore mentioned allusion to it... WE ARE HAVING A BABY BOY. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! The nurse was doing her scan and whatnot when she came upon a mysterious shape and figure. I said "Wow, what was that?" She said "What? this?" I said "Yes, that" she said "a penis". It was then we knew that our first child was going to be a boy. I cannot tell you that as the soon-to-be father I am not excited. I am freaking out. I am going to teach him everything. Basketball, baseball, fishing, hunting and of course cross-stitching... No, can you imagine though, I don't even know how to cross stitch. Anyway I am going to teach him all the things I can. Hopefully I will be able to teach him how to be a worthy priesthood holder and not make the same mistakes I have made. Kayla's little tummy is showing now. It is so cute... Oh, man. I can't tell you how proud I am of her, she has not complained one bit in her whole pregnancy. She is so beautiful.  I can't believe what great shape she stays in what with eating for two and all. So there you have it, we are healthy and doing well. We are thankful for jobs in this troubled time. We pray for the leaders of this country to know what is right and do it. We love you all more than you know.

Still babying my baby because she is going to have my baby

Just checking in with everyone. Well, what have we been up to? We went and got Twilight at 12:00am the night it came out. That would have been more fun had we waited in line, but we cheated and had a reserved copy. So, we walked in at 12:00am and just said our name and picked up our copy. Good story, huh?
Kayla has been a trooper. She is so tough. She has not had morning sickness or anything. She cannot eat very much at a time. I am on two basketball teams for the spring. One is at the Smithfield rec-center and the other is a sweet outdoor league. I dunked for the first time since my accident on the motorcycle. It was beautiful.
Work is starting up soon. I am excited for that. I am still trying to decide what I want to do with my life. We will see. Last week spontaneously, my dad called me up from Oregon and told me that he had finished his time at the dealership there and that he needed me to come over and pick him up with the jeep and the trailer. Kayla and I decided to do it. We drove down and packed my dad up and brought him back. We were able to see Travis, Karyn, Normandy, Thor, Cassius and the new baby Steel. Travis had a broken TV in his family room, we took it and shot it up with GUNS. It was awesome.
On a more spiritual note. Conference this weekend was just one more confirmation to add to the many of the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the Gospel and I am thankful to God for a living prophet on the earth. We love you all,

The lima bean stage of being a baby, presented by Dallan & Kayla Labrum with a guest appearence from Baby Labrum

Today Kayla and I took a trip to Dr. McCullouch's office. Why? Because we are going to present the world with the cutest baby to date. It was so much fun. We got there and were promptly called back to the doctors office. She asked us a few questions and then took us to the ultra sound room. She slopped some jelly on Kaylas tummy, I think it was raspberry, or maybe it was petroleum I can't remember but sure enough our tiny baby showed up on the screen and turns out, the baby has a heart that beats 170 times a minute. WOW! It was so cute with is gargantuan cranium, it was like an orange on a toothpick, I hope it didn't hear me or it will have to cry itself to sleep on its huge pillow. LOL! We are so excited and hope that you will all pray for Kayla and the baby during this trying but marvelous process.
Love,

After 3 months...

Life after 3 months of marriage

I was recently asked, "So... how is life after 3 months of marriage?". I had to answer "WONDERFUL". Kayla is everything I could have ever hoped for and more. Enough of the mushy stuff. I want everyone to know how we are and what we are up to. We have done everything from snowmobilling to rabbit hunting together... It has all been way fun. Currently I am on 2 basketball teams and Kayla is on 2 soccer teams. She is amazing and very fast. I love having a wife that can beat me at things...lol. We have also gone through our first Thanksgiving and Christmas together... It was the best waking up Christmas morning looking over at Kayla and then realizing there might be coal in my stocking because we had both been naughty the night before haha. It was weird for both of us though being away from our respective families on certain holidays, but you've gotta share right. Now that we have settled down in our ward a little bit... Kayla and I both have callings. She is a visiting teacher and the ward choruster (she leads the music) and I was called to be the secretary of the Elders quorum which has taken up a lot of my time lately. This wards records have been unkept for a long time so we are getting things straightened out in our new presidency. Well we love you all and look forward to keeping this blog current as you watch. We love you all.
